How to Partner with Nonprofits on Giving Tuesday

How to Partner with nonprofits on Giving Tuesday.

Do you ever feel like you wish your business could do more for the causes you care about… but you don’t know where to start or how to have an impact?

One of the biggest, and often overlooked, opportunities for socially conscious brands happens just once a year: Giving Tuesday!

Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good.

Maybe you’ve heard of Giving Tuesday or donated to some of your favorite causes each year. One of my favorite things about Giving Tuesday is the organizations I learn about for the first time through friends, family, and other brands sharing their stories.

Giving Tuesday is the largest global day of generosity online. On the heels of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday is the after-dinner mint we all need after all that consumerism.

34.8 million people participated in Giving Tuesday 2020, a 29% increase over 2019 (Blackbaud Giving Tuesday Report). Year over year participation and donations have increased on Giving Tuesday.

Giving feels good, right? It’s a way for us to learn about new causes, support the ones we love, and educate our community, friends, and co-workers about why they should too!

For a lot of nonprofits, the last few months of the year are the most important (and stressful) to generate revenue, and Giving Tuesday is often a huge part of their revenue stream.
